Best Classes In Solasta: Crown Of The Magister (2024)

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a tactical turn-based RPG that makes for a fantastic interpretation of Dungeons & Dragons, perhaps the best available on the market. Instead of creating just one character, as in most RPGs, players must create four, and that's before going through any sort of tutorial explaining how things work. Players will have to decide which Class their characters will belong to, among other things.

Not knowing what the Classes have to offer can make this a difficult task. Players can choose from premade characters or completely start from scratch, creating their own unique characters. To help players make the best decisions on which Classes to choose for their characters, these are the best available in Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

7 Bard

The Bard is a new addition that came with the Inner Strength DLC and offers players more than just a character with support abilities. Instead, they can learn two skills from any of the other classes through their Magical Secrets ability they unlock at level 10. They also have a couple of decent options for subclasses.

College of Lore allows the player's Bard to get two alternate class skills twice, at level six in addition to at level 10. On the other hand, College of Hope will transform the Bard into a massively powerful healer. The only drawback to this is they will have to stay back from the frontline, as they will be 100% support and not a fighter at all.

6 Paladin

The Paladin is characterized as an elite warrior who uses martial arts skills and the power of their patron deity to fight evil. This is the Class players need for all their melee combat. They are also a phenomenal tank that can hold the line when thrown up front. At the same time, they can deal massive damage with their abilities.

The Paladin can also become the talking head of the group through the use of Golden Speech. Overall, the total offering with this Domain is fantastic, and makes the Paladin extremely powerful.

5 Ranger

The Ranger makes an excellent Jack-of-all-trades choice for the player, working equally well as a ranged and melee fighter. They're also great with spells and can bring pets with them. The damage dealt is sustained, making this Class one of the most effective choices for the player to have on their team.

The best choices for subclasses within the Ranger Class are Swift Blade and Shadow Tamer. Both offer focused damage and work well against most of the enemies within the game.

4 Wizard

The Wizard is not the easiest arcane caster to use, but once the player gets them up and going, they are a force to be reckoned with. It is nearly impossible to cut out a Wizard from a party without causing serious damage to the team. They can cause serious AOE damage and swap their spells out easily.

The premier subclasses are Shock Arcanist and Court Mage. Shock Arcanist is single-handedly the best AOE damage dealer in the entire game. Court Mage allows the player to create a frontline mage that is also a tank. This subclass also has a good bit of crowd control.

3 Sorcerer

A Sorcerer is essentially a Wizard, but one that trades its utility for high damage per round. It also makes a great party face or supplement to the existing one. The Sorcerer is an excellent character to cause devastating damage to the enemy.

Haunted Soul is the best subclass for the Sorcerer. It features Spirit Visage and offers persistent AOE once level 6 is reached, allowing for massive damage infliction. Players must invest in this character to ensure it is well protected with armor and weaponry.

2 Warlock

Best Classes In Solasta: Crown Of The Magister (6)

Warlocks were unlocked with the Inner Strength DLC and are different from the rest of the Spellcasters. They are limited in spell slots and receive their final one at level 11. While this may seem like a deficiency, Warlocks have very little downtime before they can cast again, and their spells are cast with the highest potential automatically.

The Warlock would fit in well as a ranged character, taking the spot of Caster. One of the best domain options is the Timekeeper, especially for players interested in party synergy. The Tree is a great alternative for a powerful spell list that will ramp up the Warlock's power.

1 Cleric

No party is complete without a healer, and for the best choice in Solasta: Crown of the Magister that's the Cleric. Unlike the other choice, which is the Druid, the Cleric can hold the line and support their team with magic. They are another Jack of all trades, literally able to do everything.

Sun and Battle are the best options for subclasses for the Cleric. Sun offers Boosted Sacred Flame as the main attack, eliminating the need for a weapon. Battle allows for two attacks per round when the Cleric is not casting.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is available now on Windows, macOS, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
